Using Chant

Chant is a personal daily-practice app: alarms that open a short practice of chanting, reading the Bhagavad Gita, and meditation. You may use it for your own, non-commercial practice.

Who we are

Chant is made by SimplySea Labs (“we”), a sole proprietorship in India. You can reach us at [email protected].

Subscriptions

Chant is offered as an auto-renewing subscription (called Chant Plus where a free plan is also offered), billed yearly or monthly by Apple or Google. A free trial, where offered, converts to a paid subscription at its end unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase or at the end of the trial. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

Free features

Where a free plan is offered, it may include a limited set of features, which may change over time. Your practice history is always kept.

Content

The Sanskrit text of the Bhagavad Gita is in the public domain. The plain-English summaries are our own interpretive renderings, written to be accessible; they are not a scholarly translation. Mantras you write remain yours.

Your wellbeing

Chant supports a spiritual and contemplative practice. It is not medical or psychological advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Alarms

We work hard to make alarms reliable, but a phone’s settings, battery management, or operating-system version can affect them. Please keep a backup alarm for anything important.

App Store and Google Play

If you got Chant from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; if from Google Play, Google Play’s Terms of Service do. Apple and Google are not responsible for Chant or its support.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from its use.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without limiting any rights you have under the consumer laws of the country you live in.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use Chant after a change means you accept the updated terms.
